One of South Africa's top tournament fighters and coach Sensei Brando Pillay a Protea(2003) successfully graded to a 5th degree black belt at a strenous practical exam conducted by visiting world karate legend grandmaster Hirokazu Kanazawa 10th dan black belt
Brando who is 30yrs old is the youngest black belt to have been successful at first attempt to achieve the 5th dan the masters degree in karate having graduated under world karate legend Prof Hirokazu Kanazawa
The grandmaster remarked after the exam was concluded at the dut for more than 45 candidates in the various ranks that he was very impressed with the technical skills of the chief coach of SKISA and invited Sensei Brando to the annual masters seminars in August 2010 in Japan at the SKIF World Fed HQ
The 10 time International Kanazawa Cup Champion and Captain of the SKISA team South Africa since 2003 shares his knowledge throughout the KZN province 24/7 conducting coaching workshops and advanced technical seminars
His father and mentor Kyoshi Sonny Pillay said "that Brando commenced karate practice as soon as he took his first step as a child of three and has never looked back "
