World Karate Legend Grandmaster Kanazawa’s “Masters Camp”, a huge success.
World Karate Legend Japanese Grandmaster Kanazawa Hirokazu (10th Dan) recently wrapped up his South African tour after conducting a hugely successful “Masters Camp” at the KZN’s Durban University of Technology (DUT).
The Grandmaster was ably assisted by Two Time World Champion Manaubu Murakami Shihan and South African senior instructors Malcom Dorfman (8th Dan), Sonny Pillay (7th Dan), Kyoshi Ivan Ceric (7th Dan Slovenia), Shane Dorfman (6th Dan) and Brando Pillay (5th Dan). The 3day Masters Camp was attended by an average of 100 Black Belts at every session from around the Republic and several from countries abroad.
Kyoshi Sonny Pillay Chief Organiser of the Camp said that, “he was thrilled at the record number of Black Belts who attended the historical gathering of Instructors AND BLACK BELT STUDENTS who were trained under the World’s Best, Grandmaster Kanazawa together with a strong team of assistant instructors in Sensei Dorfman, Kyoshi Pillay and Murakami Shihan”.
“The benefits of attending the camp were tenfold and the ocean of knowledge that was shared by the Grandmaster during the training sessions must remain invaluable”, added Kyoshi Pillay. The Grandmaster who was on his Farewell tour of the Republic expressed his positive thoughts of the progress of karate amongst the participants of the camp by saying, “I am very impressed with the technical standard of the Black belt karateka in South Africa, Karate is in “Safe Hands” in South Africa under Sensei Dorfman and Kyoshi Pillay”.
