SKISA - Shotokan Karate Do International South Africa was established by Kyoshi Sonny Pillay in 1978 and has since then grown to become one of the premier karate organisations in South Africa, with its headquarters based in Kwa Zulu Natal.
The 8th SKIF World Cup Karate concluded successfully at the end of September 2003 at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Durban. 52 Countries were in attendance over the three days of the championships which was graced by Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa and a hosts of dignitaries which included the then deputy President (now honourable President Jacob Zuma) and several senior National and Provincial Ministers.
