SKISA has pleasure in inviting you, as a V.I.P. Guest, and your Team to the SKISA 31st Anniversary International Kanazawa Cup 2008 Africa Challenge Championships scheduled for the 26th April 2008 in Durban, South Africa.

Venue: Tongaat Indoor Sports Stadium (Main Road Tongaat), KwaZulu Natal

Time: 8.00am - Registration

Entrιe Fee: Team event (Seniors) – Kumite (Team Contestants must be 18 years and over)

Male - R150-00 per/team (5 + 2 reserves)

Female - R100-00 per/team (3 + 1 reserve)

Team event (Seniors) - Unison Kata

Male - R100-00 per/team

Female - R100-00 per/team

Individual Events Kata or Kumite / Male or Female:

Seniors (18yrs and over) = R100-00 per/person

Juniors (Under 18yrs) = R 80-00 per/person

Age Divisions: Children: 8yrs – 9yrs; 10yrs – 11yrs; 12yrs – 13yrs; 14yrs – 15yrs

Cadet: 16yrs – 17yrs

Juniors: 18yrs – 20yrs (Weight Divisions Apply for Black Belt Divisions)

Seniors: 21yrs – 39yrs (Weight Divisions Apply for Black Belt Divisions)

Junior/Senior Weight Divisions: Male – U65kg; U75kg; Over 75kg

Female – U60kg; Over 60kg

Belt Divisions: White – Yellow; Orange – Blue; Purple – Red; Brown - Black

Prior and Post the International Kanazawa Cup 2008 advanced Technical Seminars and Dan Examinations have been scheduled to be conducted by World Shotokan Legend Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa (10th Dan).

Please Note:

  • The Tournament Director reserves the right to amend the above divisions.
  • The following Championship Rules will apply in the Black Belt Divisions:

a. Kata: WKF Rules will apply

b. Kumite: WKF Old Rules (i.e. 6 Wazari/ 3 Ippon)

3. The Scoring System of Wazari (1 point); Ippon (2 points) will apply

  • Knock Out System will apply (No Reper-Charge)
  • Only Official Coaches and Managers will be permitted on the competition area
  • Only WKF approved protective equipment will be allowed

Deadline for all Entry Lists is the 22nd April 2008. Entry Fees must be deposited into the SKISA Bank Account by the 19th April 2008. The SKISA Bank Account Details are:
