Venue for tournament: Fred Crookes Sports Centre
                                           Durban University of Technology
                                           Centenary Road

Fee: Individual - R150pp (Kata and Kumite)
         Team - Snr Brown and Black belts only.
         R300 per team Kumite / R200 per Team Kata
         Team - Cadettes / Jnr Brown and Black belts only.
         R200 per team Kumite / R150 per Team Kata

 

Composition of teams for team events:
Cadettes 3 fighters 14yrs -15yrs / 3per team Kata
Jnrs 3 fighters16yrs-17yrs / 3per team Kata
Jnrs 3 fighters 18yrs – 20yrs 3per team Kata
Snrs 3-5 fighters 21yrs-35yrs male and females 3 fighters  3members per team for Kata (male/female) no bunkai reqd

Weight Divisions for brown and black belt 21-35yrs:
Females -60kg / +60kg
Males -65kg / -75kg / +75kg
Veterans: 3fighters 36yrs+ / 3per team Kata
 

Categories (colour belts) yellow-orange/ green-blue/ purple-red / brown and black belts 

Individual Age Divisions for colour belts yellow--red belts for males and females :
7/8yrs, 9/10yrs, 11/12yrs, 13/14yrs

Individual Divisions for Black and brown belts:
Cadettes / Juniors/ Seniors/ Veterans as above (divisions same as team events) Veterans 36yrs-45yrs and 46yrs+ (2 divisions)

Traditional Shotokan rules:

Kata: Flag eliminations right up to final for colour belts 
           2 round point system for Kata Brown / Black belts (bassai-  dai/jion/kanku                 -dai/empi 1st round   tokui kata final round)

Individual Kumite: Sanbon Shobu from children up to veterans black belts (all childrens Cadettes, Jnrs, Snrs and Veterans)

Team Kumite: Ippon Shobu

NB! A meeting for all Managers/ Coaches/ Referees will be held on the 30th April 2010 at 5.30pm-6.30pm at the Fred Crookes Sports Centre (Tournament Venue)
